So I'm having cocktails with a buddy at this retaurant in Laguna on Saturday when I notice author Mitch Albom (Tuesdays w/ Morrie and 5 People...) is eating there.

I call my gal to tell her and she wants me to get an autograph. So I wait until Mitch and his party (wife and another couple) is done with their main course and I go over and ask if he'd mind signing an autograph for my girlfriend who has read all his books (I forgot to tell him I read tuesdays). and he says NO Problem.

As he's signing, his very pretty wife asks about my shirt. "What does THAT TOP SUCKS" mean. I say it's kind of an inside joke about the tops of a high end line of guitars I play.

Then Mitch hands back the autograph that thanks Diane for reading his books! All in all, a very nice moment. And now I gotta read 5 people, obviously.

I wore my "That Top Sucks" shirt this weekend and I was amazed that no one inquired.
I really like the shirt.

I wore it to a strip club this weekend (messy Saturday night). I though for sure I'd get a comment. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Keith, that's an amazing author you've just met. Haven't read "Tuesdays" yet, but "5 People" rates as one of my all-time favorite books.

Great story! I'm sure the BFR shirt will be a topic of conversation wherever it goes!

No reaction from my shirt this past weekend. Could be that I had my jacket on most of the time. So, it probably said, "..op Su.."

That's what Diane thinks too. I've got to read it. His Tuesdays with Morrie really captures friendship, mentoring, and maturing all at the same time. Sure would have liked to spend some time talking with him rather than just fawning, but when I went over he was in the middle of telling a story and I already interrupted that.

Interesting to note that the RedSox and Indians were on TV and he wasn't the least bit interested.

This is great. Wondering if I could get a shirt sent to Japan to spread the love worldwide? :)
