I can't seem to get my non-musician music friends (aka snobs) into Toto, but I'm a fanboy.

My dad bought me the first album when I was a kid. Still have it on vinyl. Hooked ever since.

I'm really looking forward to the live CD and DVD. I was at that Paris show and it was the best show I have ever been to. I was in shock it was that good, and I've seen the guys four times before that. I'd eb surprised if this disc does not become a must have for any Toto fan or musician.

Yes, I will!!

some clips from every track over on Toto99.com.

I was just listening to a few of them. Caught in the Balance and Africa had me close to tears (but then again last week I did break up with the girl I went to the gig with. I think it just hit me).

I think I'll be the first in the store the day it comes out. Counting down too!

I had no idea of the SCOPE of Luke's career when I met him for the first time in 2005.

In a way, I'm glad that I didn't because I certainly would have found it harder to ignore that history and that talent.

I'm a Jackie-Come-Lately, I guess.

But of course I was around and old enough to get what Toto was doing in the 70s. I was more of a Dixie Dregs/Crimson/Todd fan, that sort of thing, but along the way, I realized that Toto could really grab me, too.

"99", although I have no idea what he's on about, still makes me listen closely.

"I Won't Hold You Back Now" is just one KILLER love song.

And isn't it odd that the things I like most about Toto are mostly Luke? Who knew? I didn't (thank God).

I didn't know it was Luke singing those. I really didn't.

So here I am, half a century old, finally building my little Toto collection. I never claimed to be that smart - good thing, good thing.

And Luke's work apart from Toto is what really gets me now.

Well, I should shut up or he's going to make fun of me, but Luke, if you're reading this, well, you know. The things I said backstage at the Madonna Inn were true, but I have gotten a little smarter.

God bless you, man.

The solo Lucious does on "I won't hold you back now" is one of the finer examples of soul and emotion in a solo done by a master.

I've always told anyone when the discussion arises that Luke defines the perfect balance of art, soul and technique in his playing.

He is inspiring to say the least...
