I noticed new tourdates on my favourite band's profile and just wanted to advertise probably the most influencial bass player for all ex-USSR countries.

Nov 10 - The Hook Club, New York
Nov 14 - Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco
They were in the States before. First time in 1998. Tequilajazzz played in CBGB in NY. And for the independent uncommercial band from Russia this was a success.
You say - How is it connected to EBMM ? Well, I answer - the bass player from Tequilajazzz - Eugene Fedorov - created his own signature sound, that every musician would recognize in all ex-USSR countries, and he created it using EBMM Stringray Bass.
Being a fan of their music, I noticed immediately when he sold his longtime partner Ibanez Roadstar and switched to Stringray. Back then in Russia, it wasn't easy to find a decent instrument. Custom made copies of famous brands or cheapest models of Japanese instruments were the only option. For me Fedorov's example was the first introduction to Music Man Basses, and probably for many more bass players that liked his music and sound.
I couldn't find any internationally famous Western bands or artists that use similar tube overdriven bass sound to have a leading part in their music. Maybe you may find some similarities and post the names here, it would be really useful.
As the perfect example of Fedorov's signature sound you may listen to track 2 currently available at Myspace called "BERLIN". This might be a very good demo piece of that punchy Stingray tone.
Fedorov later made a modification to his Stringray bass. He added 2nd pick-up, as there were no such models yet available from EBMM.
For many years he uses that same bass for live and studio perfomances with no backup at all (many of you with 10+ lists in you signatures are probably on the floor unconscious at the moment
) Tequilajazzz was last time in Minsk many years ago, but almost every year I try to catch up and visit their show in Moscow or St. Petersburg where they play regulary.
I don't want to overrate the bass part of the band, all other musicians are great too. Duser - is one of the best drummers in Russia with his own special style and Mapex endorser wich is really rare case for russian independent scene. KONSTANTIN Fedorov, Eugene's brother and Oleg Baranov are very good guitar players as well.
