Okay, so some of you must realize that my g.a.s. peaks and drops on a daily basis for the next ball ....

but I would seriously like some input/opinions regards to the Rosewood edition of the Axis Super Sport in contrast to an Axis Super Sport with rosewood board and maple top ( humbuckers on either guitar) .

help .... please .... pretty please:D

cheers, eh

I have an axis ss with maple, and one with rosewood (fingerboards)

I'M sure this has been posted a million times, but here's one more time...
They are both great....the tone of the rosewood is a little warmer, and the maple a little brighter (more pronounced "snap" or attack)
The rosewood neck feels a tiny bit thicker...it could be an illusion, but it feels that way to me. I prefer the rosewood for a smoother rock/fusion tone although either one will get a very heavy rock sound if that's your flavor.

hope this helps....you can't go wrong with the rosewood.

I LOVE my rosewood neck! I seriously believe it is the best neck I've ever played. The neck has just a hint of grain - it is awesome. I can't wait until BP releases the rosewood basses!

Also, there is a MM90 Rosewood in ebay that is not overpriced at this point. I know you were thinking humbuckers but the MM90's are super cool.

I have an all Rosewood ASS and absolutely love it. The rosewood neck is one of the most comfortable necks that I've ever played. That's actually the reason that I bought it. I picked it up at GC to play and just couldn't put it down. I also really dig the looks of the rosewood top. The combo of the wood and pups sound great too - I play mostly classic rock and blues.

the all rosewood with MM90's is just the grittiest sounding thing ever, especially in Drop D. It just growls WAY more than my maple neck ASS.

Agreed. The tone of those things just knocks my socks off. When it comes to overdriven tone, I would dare say that my RW Axis with MM90s is about perfect.

My all-rosewood ASS with hums is one of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard, and very versatile to boot. You can't go wrong with one.
