I would venture to say they did not. The compensated nut was introduced late in 2005 (Q4) and the LEs would have been produced and spoken for by Q3 of '05. Someone correct me if i'm wrong!

I was playing my LE SS last night and I'm trying to picture the damn nut. I'm thinking that it does have one because I remember thinking that only my JP doesn't have a compensated nut on it.

thanks for the response guys.

For those that have played both, how much of a difference does it make.

I had an ervana fitted to my Les Paul and the difference was pretty significant.

Cheers

I have 2 JPs. one has the new nut, the other old. Can't tell a bit of difference. YMMV.

The comp nut was introduced in 05 and I believe was included on all the 2005 LE buttercream instruments initially and then later in the year (3rd/4th quarter) started making its way into the standard production instuments. So all the buttercreams should have the comp nut.

I still say it depends on your ears. For me, it doesn't make a hill'o'beans worth of difference. Others swear by it. I think your mileage will vary....

well, my last 2 JP6 had them on and they were the most "in tune" guitars I've ever experienced. Could be the nut, or just friggin' great guitars...
