Firstly, I can't imagine that you would rely on advice of others for color, it's such a personal preference thing. But it's all part of the anticipation, I guess.

When I decided to buy my Luke II the store had a Rad Red and Luke Blue. I didn't try the Luke Blue as the color just didn't have any warmth or "pop" to me. And I had just sold a beautiful black / gold hardware guitar with real abalone neck inlays, which would have made a black Luke look pretty plain.

I loved the Rad Red, but initially didn't like the matching headstock - made me think of painted ladies with too much "warpaint" (sorry, all, that's just how I felt about it). I would have far preferred a natural or black headstock.

But that one resonated nicely, rang like a bell in fact, and sounded great, so I took it home. Since then I've gotten used to the headstock, and really love the guitar.

And yes, Rad Red is one gorgeous color, especially under strong lights.

You'll love whichever one you choose.
