Hello lovely Bass players!

Just got the latest edition of Guitarist magazine and I was pleased to see that it has a review of the 20th SR5.

They seem to be pretty impressed with it, giving it the Guitarist Choice award.

Some quotes:

"The body is endowed with a coach line veneer sandwiched between the ash core and the bookmatched maple top and what a touch of elegance it provides."

"...sumptuous California sunset finish..."

"..a whole lot of tonal options at the flick of a switch..."

"The looks of this instrument are just so right that you'd be forgiven for falling in love with it at first glance,"

"Switching between the selection of coil options shows just how tonally versatile this bass is, and that's before making any rotary control enhancements."

"The sounds available are exceptional, even by Music Man standards, but as to how much of this is down to the mahogany block inserted into the body is hard to evaluate. But in all honesty, with a voice that sings the way this bass does, who really cares how it was achieved? The design team certainly deserves any accolades coming their way."

"..as a stand-alone bass in it's pwn right this Anniversary edition is truly quite exceptional."

I think they liked it :)

True enough. People do ask me what I think it is. The alnico magnets? The tone block? The revamped preamp?

Hell if I know, so I've decided it's the whole package.

The design team certainly deserves any accolades coming their way.

Amen. Someday I'd love to get the inside story on who did what.

I'm kinda starting to desire alnico pickups and the mahogany tone block. But still can't justify having two SR5's since I only use a 5'ver for 1% of my playing.

Argh! I'm trying to be happy with my (awesome) SR5 since I can't afford a 20th, and this isn't helping! Ah well.

Isn't the order window already closed, or am I wrong?

Enjoy!

I'm glad all of you are enjoying the 20th SR5.
It's good to know the hard work we put in setting these instruments up, is appreciated. Being a bass player, getting the opportunity to be one of the first to play it is a great honor. You can tell by the big grin on my face!
