I'm almost finished with my prototype DOD YJM308 mod (inexplicably I can't get the AC input to work and it is driving me nuts). Once I have it done, I would be happy to let someone try it out and tell me what they think. I figured it would be my way of showing good will on the forum. I think it is quite interesting but I need some outside criticism. Let me know what you think (as if anyone is going to say no). And no, I'm not selling it. This is something to loan around and get feedback on. Then when it is a smash, Sterling will hire me as his pedal man:p

Yeah, you are definitely a boutique man Lenny. And a neat freak from the looks of it. I am too, but now it looks like I have competition. :)

Well, I am 37 too, I just have a habit of selling and buying so I never amass anything. If I still had everything I would need another house. And at least another job.

I'd love to try it out if its an option. Here's my pedalboard, (although I don't have the ringtone or BOSS PercSynth anymore). :)

Those of you interested in trying out my pedal when it's done, PM me your addresses and I will plan on loaning it to the first 5 that give me your addresses. When it's done I'll set a couple of guidlines and then get it into your hands.

Okay...the mystery pedal arrived yesterday, and I'm about to take it for a spin....there wasn't anything in the box that explained what you did (I think that's how you wanted it)
I'll try to post some clips and pics...
here goooooooooooooeeeeeesssss......

Okay...initial impressions....bright and a little on the harsh side. Perhaps if you could filter a little of the extreme high end out and warm it up a tad, it would be perfect. I'm comparing it to a Keeley modded tubescreamer, a reverend drivetrain II, and a dunlop zakk wylde overdrive. I also have a fultone full drive II, a barber direct drive, and an xotic BB preamp, but they're not with me at the moment. Your pedal just seems to lack some bottom end (which may be a good thing depending on what amp you're driving and your purpose) When i flip the toggle up, it just seems to get louder...at first, I thought it was bigger, too....but when I match the volume control to both settings, i think it's just louder and a tad more gain.
I've never heard a stock Yngwie pedal, so I'm not sure what all you modded.
Overall...it would be a nice complement to some of the mid-heavy tubescreamer type overdrives and you're very, very close. But hey, tone is a VERY subjective thing, and what I dislike may sound like heaven to someone else.
I'm going to keep messing around with it and hope to gig with it once before I return it to you.
Don't know if maybe you could add a tone control or a high cut????

I agree with everything you said, and that is why I didn't put a note inside, I wanted your impressions without mine coloring your thoughts.
The stock pedal is extremely bright and acts a lot like a treble booster- not much gain, but a lot of volume and high end to cut through on solos.
I'm cutting more of the highs on the 2nd pedal, but I didn't notice the bass loss (I actually did boost it from the stock pedal), so I will push it up some more on the second one.
Keep the comments coming. :)
