I'm currently looking at getting a JP7, probably in the US. Someone tells me the prices are being increased from December 1 - any truth in this, or just a wheeze to get me to part with my money?

prices usually increase every 12 months. you should check with strings&things(UK distributor) and ask when the last price change ocurred. telling people prices are going up is a nice way of scaring a potential client into an early buy. p1ss3s me off every time. if you heard it from a sales person, take it with a grain of salt. and even if prices are going to rise, i wouldn't jump into buying something im not sure about (usually it's a colour thing for me =D).

I wouldn't worry too much about it if you're not ready to buy yet - just decide what you want then do some good negotiation when you're ready. ;)

FWIW, MM has only had one price increase in like the past five years or so. I work for an EBMM dealer (until Friday anyway) and we haven't been notified of a price increase. They are very good about keeping is in the loop on things like that (unlike some other manufacturers) and as far as I know nothing like that is going to happen.

As far as purchasing a Music Man from the US, there are only two ways you can do that: buy a used one or actually come across the pond and purchase. We are not allowed to sell New Stock out of the country. It helps keep the territory boundaries clean.
