Dear all,

I AM AN IDIOT.

There I said it. I'm typing this from the office right now (yes I took a drive here to try and give it another shot).

The round knobs with the keyholes MOVE SIDEWAYS! Duh!

Taking photos now.

It's an anti theft device............................but now that you posted it on a forum, EVERYBODY knows about it.:D

Haha...
I had the same problem when my BFR arrived, it took a couple of minutes to figure it out... I remember thinking WTF I want my BFR now!!

But it's pretty clever how it tests the player. "Are you smart enough to play the BFR?"

Boy these threads about people not being able to open G&G cases really make me feel old - just about every guitar I've ever had over nearly 28 years of playing has had a G&G style case with these latches so I'm used to them.

However, I can see that someone used to modern molded cases (or Gibson-style fitted cases) would have one of those "ohmygod, howdoesthiswork!" moments.

That guitar sucks.

I'll do you a huge favor and take it off your hands so you don't have to fool with it anymore.

I know how to open the case ;)

That's the kind of thing that reminds me of the standby switch problem I have. Nothing says "Metal" like looking at your amp (while on stage) wondering why it's not working ....then having your wife yell from the crowd "your amp's on stanby!!".

Jappy, thanks for a great laugh, and congrats on that amazing looking ax. That G&G case is really sweet too... once you figure how it opens. *chortles*

The PRS cases are the same way. The first time I tried to open my friend's case a few years ago, I was like WTF man?! He then informed me that you have to move them sideways, and it clipped my knuckle when it popped open the first time.

I'm glad you finally got into the case! Sweet guitar...

A friend of mine had exactly the same problem as you did, I had to send him an e-mail to assure him it wasn't broken!!! :D

Maybe you should have pm'd BP to ask him how to open it :D

(just a joke, don't PM BP folks. Unless you're Jack and even then think twice before you do ;) )
