SUB1 is discontinued, so all the guitars they have in stock are probably at least one year old and they probably want to sell them as quickly as possible.
SUBs are great guitars for the money by the way.

EB stopped making them a little while ago (in the last year or so) so I guess shops are now looking to sell off their stocks. There are quite a few sub owners on the forum who swear by them and at that price, we in the UK would be snapping them up!!

Love mine.... had a spare DiMarzio AirZone laying around that I through in the bridge, but it really didn't need it. Neck pickup tones are especially sweet.

I also own a Sub1 guitar. I got one with the HH pickups and I'm totaly amazed how good they sound. I think it fits everything from pop to death metal.

Love my sub and have been sad that it's down! Need to pony up some cash for a repair.... love it though... I played it quite a bit and recorded on it quite a bit...... the MM price is a bit much IMO... they uped the price with the recent music man price increase.... they didn't get the memo that it shouldn't have been applied to these guitars since the last one left the factory way before the increase....oh well.

Hell Yeah I have one....

I love my Sub 1's. The necks are as good as any EBMM guit IMO. The pups are pretty darn impressive. They play like buttah. What more do you need to know?

I like em so much I have two of them. A hardtail 2xhummer and a 2xhummer with tremolo.

I'm looking at getting another one.

You can spend the same kind of money and get a lot less guitar.

I bleeb the bass SUBs came out first and they were so called because they were a "Sport Utility Bass."

I guess the name sounded cool enough to use on the guitars, too. SUG just sounds kinda weird, haha.

im thinking of selling my ibanez s470 with a wizard I neck for one of these. i really like the thin style neck. the only guitars i like that ive played are my ibanez and my jp6. is the neck painted or like the jp? and how is its shape? and finally how much do they usually sell for nowadays?

the SUB necks are painted black.its a satin finish that buffs up with play.as for shaping it's similiar to the Silhouettes.pretty regular C profile.nice, small and rounded.
I bought my old one back from fellow forumite Steve3d a couple of weeks ago.

Maybe it's supposed to mean Sub $1k? Would be fitting, it's the only one that was on the line you could get for under 1k new.

I don't think "for the price" even belongs in the description. Sub's rule, period. It functionally lags behind my Silo in no way shape or form, they are just two different guitars.
