In the old days (80s): Boss SD2-Overdrive, CE3-Chorus and DD2-Digital Delay.

These days: none at all (better guitar and better amp than in the 80s, 'nuff said) or the Boss GT-8 (for when I do want to sound "effected").

I would have to say my Vox Tonelab LE. I've never been a fan of amp modeling, or even pedals for that matter, but this thing puts out some serious tube tone, with any sound you can think of.

My Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde. Having no on-board gain with the Fender Twin, this pedal gets the job done for everything we play. Just broken up gain for Tom Petty, Rock tones for Chili Peppers, even some great distortion for Metallica. I swear by it. (Until I get my hands on a Mark IV).

I'd have to say my boss ds-1. Had it some 17 years and it's never broke once. My amp isn't hi gain so it's pretty much always on. I have to have it to give me something close to the sound I hear in my head. Somewhere, languashing around the bottom of my to do list is to get it keely mod'd. I don't have alot of pedals in my set up, so therefore I guess pretty much all of them I could justify keeping to some extent. But, the boss noise surpressor my girlfriend got me for my birthday last year is something I can't live without now. Really gave my set up a breath of fresh air. There's nothing like a noiseless rig!!!

Well, seeing as their on all the time, I would have to say my Clark Gainster, Boss DD-20 and RC-Booster. My favourite "effect" though, is my Voodoo Labs Micro Vibe.

Fulldrive 2

Of all of the equipment I have had in the last 10 years, there is one pedal that is always on my board is my 98 Fulltone Fulldrive 2. It just seems to sound great with every amp and guitar I have plugged into it. It is just killer in the clean channel of a Twin, pounding a Marshall into further oblivian, and I just obtained a Bad Cat Cub 2 that it both screams and sings with. Our bass player even says to make sure "you bring the yellow (limited edition colour) pedal" when we jam at his place.

It sounds amazing with my Silo Special into my Marshall....

Hmmmm......

Probably one of an assortment of delay pedals at the moment. I am surprisingly (at least for me) really digging the Boss RE-20. I am only using it for the echo - and subtle at that - but man it's got a really good tone. Although, the pedal I have on most all of the time is a Zvex SHO - I love what that 5 meg impedance boost does to the guitar signal - especially with single coils!
