Ok i usually dont dig butt munching threads, but the neck on that guitar is to die for.

How on earth did EBMM make that?? It is the most comfy neck i have ever played and it is totally spoiling me.

I would LOVE if EBMM came out with a regular strat shaped guitar with that neck on it as well!

Seriously it has to be by far the BEST neck ever made. Totally ingenious.

I am not a big fan of the Al shape to tell you the truth, but the Silo and Luke a totally dig. And of course the Axis.

I would just love a different version of the axis. Lets say with a more strat shape to it. Make the upper horn 'open' like a strat. Something like the Steve morse with Floyd, but with that Godly Axis neck on it. I do love the Axis shape the way it is as well. Just would want that neck on a more strat/morse body shape.

Every other neck seems silly to me anymore.

odd that given your liking of the Axis neck you should favour a skinny "v" Luke over an Albert Lee bit of maple loveliness. each to their own,I just think that's odd.that's all
Komp

FWIW I totally love the Axis,AL and Silo necks

I'd really like a regular Axis but with a HSS configuration.... :)

no dude i was talking about the body shape not the neck! lol!

I have never tried an Al neck to tell the truth. but i was referring to the body shape.

The Luke is nice cause of the V it kinda fills out your hand but has some gaps cause its skinny as you said as well. Of course the Axis is like a glove, its really not a neck at all. Feels like a part of my hand.

H/S/S configuration is what i am used to as well and i think it would be great, but i would like it in a strat shape.

Basically any configuration as long as it has that neck on it.

An all Alder Axis would be great as well. I love the upper mids Alder gets as well!
I wouldnt personally care too much if it didnt have a pretty maple top either. Just an all Alder Axis. mmmmmmmm!

tell you what the Luke neck is just killer on long stints.... I play in a big Jazz band with a horn section and we were playing last night... a corporate Christmas gig... big crowd big stage... you know the deal... anyway I took the luke and not once did I feel any fatigue... I was playing all these weird jazz chords.... bout a million of them..:p and at the end of the night I was fine.. not weary or tired and the guitar was wonderful.... I love Lukes....:D

i've tried axis neck , i have to say it was very comfortable, so was the petrucci neck, it is very comfortable, it was very confusing for me to decide which ebmm should i buy at that time, but after i played luke i know that neck is the most suitable one for my hand.

same with you.. i wonder how did ebmm make those necks..

I'm with you Tone. The Axis neck is to die for. I actually like the SILO Spec body shape better, but I've never played one to know what that neck feels like. If it's anything like an axis, I'd probably buy one.

I have both, the silo special neck is awesome too, has that MM vibe, a tad thinner and a tad wider at the base - I actualyl like all the MM necks, the JP being my least favorite but they are all great feeling -

My favorite guitar of all time is still the Luke.

When it comes to neck. That is.

I have found that the neck on some Axis guitars I have played is like my AL neck

I agree witht the above. I played an Al at GC and the neck felt similar to the Axis neck. I'm sure the Al neck is slightly different but they are both killer necks. My experience with the Luke neck is that people either really like it or they don't care for it.

I really like the look, feel, and sound of the Petrucci guitar overall but the neck was my least favorite out of the EBMM line but I remember being able to set the action ridiculiously low on the JP-6 with little to no buzzing. I really couldn't believe how low I was able to get it.

For me I prefer the Axis overall both for sound and feel.

I prefer the Silo Special neck to the Axis neck. The Axis asymmetrical shape doesn't work for me as well. Would love to try a Luke.

Pick up an old Axis Sport. Comes in HSS, SSS and HH, has a great neck and a solid Ash body. Plus they have some great translucent finishes on them.

Whenever my signature model comes out, it will be a Silo Special (HSS) with an axis profile neck. It will be an ash body with a translucent cream/white finish with a tort pickguard and a floyd bridge. Would anyone else want to buy my sig model with this set up????

sounds pretty good to me too

I'm most interested in the "translucent cream/white finish"

Does this even exist as an EBMM color option? I'd be very curious to see what that looks like...it would probably be sweet with an awesome quilt or flame top...
