Totally just curious here, but what's the average time it takes to get some of these balls from a slab of wood to a fully playable (and very nicely playable) guitar?

I placed an order for an Axis SS in early September and had hopes that it might be here before the New Year, hence the "07?" in my sig file. The time varies from 4 to 6 months in most cases, depending on the time of year and the number of orders in the pipeline. Definitely worth the wait...

I'm practically dying here from anticipation. I ordered a JP6 in Carbon Blue with the Piezo from my local dealer, and I've been pestering them like mad. I go up there and play their JP's whenever I get the chance just to get my fix! :D

If it's your first, it is definitely the worst. Hey at least you have a great support group here that you can whine at. And to have one that you can play helps too...

It's worth the wait... By the way, how long until it arrives?

I really don't know. I ordered in Early November. The sales rep said that they actually had 5 of them on order for the company at the time I placed my order so that shortens the time a bit. Problem is, I really don't know when the orignal order was placed.

Really could help if I had some pics of a Carbon Blue JP to tide me off though :D

JP's take the longest from my experience. Although we did get the BFR JP before the Luke... anyway, don't be surprised if it's 6 months.

I ordered an Axis in Sept. It's done, but it hasn't made it to Pete or me yet. So, just over 3 months, but I've heard it can take as long as 6 months (give or take a little) depending on the model.

last 3 took 5mos.The first IS the worst because you won't have a ball to play in the meantime.
I had to put my AL order in now because I'm doing some theatre work in the summer that I have to have a SSS guitar. Could'n't wait for the 08LE or BFR to be introduced. Deadline was summer, so I got my order in by thanksgiving.

I love ordering Balls. That means I ordered my first in '04 and 1/year after that.

The last couple that we ordered took right at 3 months...I really think it just depends on the model, and how the planets are aligned (and if they somehow decide that one of our existing planets is in fact NOT a planet any longer...well, that can really screw things up)

Welcome to the forums. It really does depend on the model. Like JeffreyB said, he has some on order that will be 3 months (one of them being my Silo Special, woohoo) but i have heard 6 months as well.

Actually, Scott...your lefty Silo came today...but it was a right handed blue Axis....I'm not sure where the mix up was...I'll ask them to try again.

Tim what have you ordered? Some come quicker than others. I've guitars arrive in 3 months too.

Well, It's a Carbon Blue Pearl JP6 with the Piezo and Matching headstock. I don't have the initials JP so I didn't go for the inlays.......:D It should be one of Five destined for Long and McQuade in Canada, so I'm hoping it will come soon.....

My only comment on the guitar is that I wish it came with .10-.46 strings as a factory standard (as i hear they used to do)....ah well. Can't win everything.

the boys at the store will hook you up with those strings if you tell them. I know I'd be more than happy to do that with any of my customers. That guitar is going to be sweet and worth the wait.
