There's something odd about my 20th.

The 3 wound strings seem to be softer than the 3 plain strings. Is there something wrong with the pups? wiring? or do I need to raise the pup bobbins individually?

I know the G is usually louder than most strings, and the D is the softest, but I don't have this problem with my JP6. Could it be due to the 10" radius? I'm using regular slinkys.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Are the strings all new?

Are the pickups set at the factory height?

I didn't notice anything like that on the many 20ths we have had come through here, I know that they sound spectacular, tho! Hands down the best sounding guitar I have ever heard.

Not hearing it on mine. Just got back from a party and my wife is still down the street so I decided to give the 20th some love. It sounds the same in all pickup positions - clean or distorted. It's setup 1/2 step flat.

What a toneful bastard this thing is.

Have you tried new strings?

Yup, the strings are new... What's the factory height? I didn't touch them since I left the shop.

They sound fantastic. Don't get me wrong. It's just that this volume drop is strange, and I'm trying to figure it out...

Something's strange. I tested the 20th at my regular jam sessions yesterday. We play everything from top 40s to metal to blues. (except jazz... I can't do jazz heheh.)

I didn't really notice much volume difference here. Maybe the amps were loud. But dB levels are an exponential gain right? which means , If I amp it up, the difference should have been greater? So maybe there's nothing wrong with the guitar, but my home 15W solid state amp doesn't react to the guitar as well? I dunno.

Anyways, the 20th blew my socks off. It's such a dynamic guitar, I can't believe all that tone was coming from me. (It's got much more dynamics than the JP6) I think it's the entire packaging of this guitar that makes it so good. The mix of the woods, the low output pups... Damn! I was in tone heaven!

I seriously hope that there will be a similar Silo Spec coming out eventually. I think that mix of woods is a must have for single coils!!!! Damn!

I'm damn glad I got a chance to own one. I'm hunting for a 2nd piece (RW) now...
