I don't mean to throw water on the fire. But we have been going on and on for 4 pages (myself included) about this topic. I looked and the originator of this thread hasn't checked in since 1/2/2008. That doesn't mean he hasn't been reading it. But I think he got his answer and moved on. And we the passionate can't let go of it. Just my 2 cents. ;)

I have been here, I actually posted this on page 3

Played the Modulus today, there was nothing special about it, I actually didn't like the sound of the neck, but I think its because the action was set a little to high for me.. Im going to be looking for a stingray and OR sterling..
Thanks for the help Guys..

I will be going with a stingray or sterling or both for SURE..

PICS when I get it.

Not sure wether to go
White with rosewood and black pick-guard.
Honey Burst with maple [love the way it ages] and white pick-guard.
Honey Burst with Rose wood and white or black pick-guard.
or Dargie Delight!!

Whatever I end up with it will be a Single H, slight chance I get a H/S

If you find a Dargie, get a Dargie.
IMO, the best looking EBMM I've ever seen. It's weird, but very cool.

Never a Need to argue over this, It's the Difference between a Bently and a Ford Escort.

Hm. IMO, MMs rather compare to BMWs. And the Bongo is the living proof ;)

Why? You can brag around the whole day about how great they're build, how cool they look, how incredible their performance is, and how good a bang for the buck they are. But at the end of the day (literally, in the evening stagelight) all that counts is that they get the job done: Get out of the way, and let you forget about the medium and just be the best you are. And that, they do.

I think I just proofed to have converted to fanboy as well... damn!! :D

Here is a solution, buy both like I did! I have 2 Fleas and 2 Stingrays. I love them both.

I'm very proud of you guys for keeping it "moderate".

As BP would tell you, I'm sure, there are plenty of good basses out there and not every single one of them say Music Man on the headstock.

(About 99.9% is the last figure I heard.)

Fanboys we are, but this thread puts the lie to the belief that we can't see the forest for the trees.

Nicely done.

My only addition is: After changing the pickups three times, the electronics once, and four different kinds of strings; I'm almost happy with my Modulus Q5 my wife bought me on our wedding day.

I think I changed the batteries in my EBMM basses.

I'm pretty sure the Flea 5 shown above was once mine. I also have went with the decision to own both. Currently have a Flea 5 with Walnut top and a Rolls Burgandy Bongo 4 HS. There is room in my collection for a lot of different brands.
