Need to vent, Looks like im gonna be down for a few weeks, my new amp which I will not bring up the name of to avoid brand bashing, (hey I work in electronics, no matter how well you build something stuff just happens somtime.) Laid down on me after owning it for about 10 days. Used it at church everything was fine, brought it home turned it on, started getting a loud hum through the speakers and caught the ever so lovely smell of burning electronics. Looks like Im gonna be down without an amp for at least a week and a half as I have to send it back to MF and when they recieve it they will in turn send a replacement out. Its been awhile since Ive been without amp, totally bummed, but my wife Im sure will love it!! Cant wait to get another one though, I think I finally found my dream combo amp, the SR5 sounds really good through it.

Out of curiousity, did your amp suffer a similiar fate?

No, it still worked, but according to an amp tech I brought it to before I sent it to GK for repair it could only put out about 50W before distorting (no he wasn't checking the bi-amped tweeter output either). It basically sounded tinny and like crap and any time I dug into a string I'd get a bunch of crappy noise. I had to play super light to get anything from the amp that sounded musical.
