Howdy folks. I purchased my StingRay 5, Serial Number 51190, in 2001 on eBay, and never really knew the history. I'm guessing it is a 1989 or 1990. Can anyone give me a better history?

Peace
Jeromy

Jeromy, nice bass - it was completed on 12/15/89. It should have a rosewood fretboard. That is about all we know on this one.

Cheers -

Thanks Dan! It has been and continues to be an amazing bass. I had to replace the nut a while ago, but it still gets played every day.

Peace,
Jeromy

I recently bought a red sub bass, apparently from 05 but i'm just interested in it's birthday. I checked the link on the first page and it's not on there, would anyone be able to get me an exact date please and any other possible info?
Serial number: X05439

Hmm.. I rechecked it and that is what it shows up as still .... yes, the serial number would be on the bridge, but are you possibly missing a letter before the 5 digits? Also, sometimes 6's can look like 8's, or 3's like 8's. and vice versa and so forth. You might study the number carefully with a flashlight ...

Dan

I doubled checked the sn and it is 55686. There are no letters before the number.

Thanks Aziah, much appreciated!
It's a fine bass w/an interesting history, originally purchased by the late guitarist Robin Crosby of RATT fame, later finding its way to LA bassist Matt Bissonette, and drummer Dean Ogden. Also used by Nathan East for a recording, according to the album producer. It's been around but finally found its home.

Here is one to add to the database. If anyone can provide further information, please do!

EB - Music Man Sabre

Finish = Copperhead Bronze
Pick Guard = White
Fret Board = Rosewood
Logo/Headstock = '85 to '87
Neck Plate = Absent of "Made in the USA" (EB)
