Hey SS, welcome and congratulations on your new bass! It was completed on Dec 20 2006 and was shipped to Australia.

The serial numbers don't always follow that the larger the number the later the model (obviously). Often you will see lower numbers thown in with the higher ones on similar build dates.

Cheers,

Dan

fly, that is one of the first SUB basses made, it was completed on 04/30/03 and was shipped to Tom Lee Music in Richmond, BC, Canada. The finish is called Textured White, yes it is a matte finish.

muziker, please check the color and/or serial number again ... Our database reports that serial number belonging to a Trans Gold StingRay 5 with a maple neck, matching headstock, and white pearloid pickguard that was built on 8/16/2000 and shipped to Royal Music Center in New York. Hmmmm......

Dan

thanks Dan! Youre absolutely right.

Here is one again:E18013 SR 4 natural/maple/black pickguard.

Thanks Tom

kara, this is a black fretless and has a completion date of 11/30/94. Originally shipped to Bill's Music House in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dan

Hmmm.... The used bass I just picked up is a SR 5 with a maple neck has a red / orange sunburst (probably not the right description of color) and white pick guard, with frets.. Is the s# anywhere else besides the bridge?

Fly, Unfortunately we don't keep that close of track ... but yeah, somewhere between those numbers seems likely ;)

Hmm.. I rechecked it and that is what it shows up as still .... yes, the serial number would be on the bridge, but are you possibly missing a letter before the 5 digits? Also, sometimes 6's can look like 8's, or 3's like 8's. and vice versa and so forth. You might study the number carefully with a flashlight ...

Howdy folks. I purchased my StingRay 5, Serial Number 51190, in 2001 on eBay, and never really knew the history. I'm guessing it is a 1989 or 1990. Can anyone give me a better history?

Peace
Jeromy
