Jeez you guys are dodo's sometimes......WE did it because we have the inventory and supply chain.

Keep in mind that we only posted photos of every guitar so people could make an informed purchase
and that was almost totally ignored......

I just saw this thread...I've been away for a while....which "Jeffrey" were you referring to?
Did I miss something there if it was about me?????

By the way, I am SOOOOOO glad that they offered this option of choosing the Quilt or Flame and I LOVE the new colors...but now it makes it harder to choose. I think I'm ordering a Emerald Burst QUILT top LUKE BFR....anyone else need one while I'm at it?

That's a very cool decision. Glad folks are going to have the choice, now.

Any chance we are going to have the choice on regular production models like the Axis and Axis SS?

Amen...
...and I have one of those BFRs! Fantastic to be able to look at the BFR thread and check out the instrument before pressing the "Go" button. A unique effort on the part of EB, which I appreciate.

Having said that...I think the decision to choose the top (when placing an order for a new instrument) is also brilliant.

I'm (slowly) saving up for an Emerald Burst BFR Luke with a QUILT top. (or maybe Purple burst...or maybe....)

I thought the inventory and supply chain was a no brainer. I just like the idea of it being another option out of the gazillion we have already.

Posting all those pics was great and I love them....however, it hurts my head because I want them all and have to try and narrow it down....;)

The BFR photo's are really good. It's a great idea to have them shot in consistent lighting, as it helps to get away from all of the variations that were appearing on dealer's sites (no offence Pete, yours were great)

BP, I watched that BFR pic thread looking for a fabulous JP BFR quilt headed to Pete's place.. then double checked his site to see if they were already claimed. I was hoping when the 'perfect' one came along, I'd have the dough and Pete would have no pre-sale.

Now I guess I can finish saving the cash and then just order what I want! Thanks!

Whatever the reason, I'm glad to hear it. It's the kind of option the buyer should be able to choose. I just hope the supply remains such that the buyer can continue to choose.
