SS colour options

Is it possible to order a SS in a special colour that's not in the current colour chart? Something generic, like say, Shell Pink? Would MM produce this? I remember seeing somewhere on this forum that someone ordered a "custom made" Axis and it had the "custom made" plate on the back.

Is this still available? My local dealer knows nothing of this. Please say yes, so I can go and smack him on the head...

Yeah White-S,

It may have been the custom Axis I got and posted a couple months back. It was a genuine "custom" Axis (engraved on the plate too); the paint was a standard color though - Tobacco Burst.

You may want to call CS to see what you can get.

You used to be able to pay a $500 upcharge for certain models (Axis, Morse Y2D) and request flame or quilted top, and it would be a real looker. Those guitars came with the "custom made" neck plate. I had a Steve Morse Y2D that I paid the upcharge for a quilted top on. Colin now owns that one...

I don't believe that option extists any longer though, BP never really liked it.

I don't think that option is available any more either. EBMM tops have always been very nice, but the upcharge tops were really stunning (in PRS terms they would be Artist-to-Private Stock tops). I'm pretty sure the figured maple they used to make available for the $500 upcharge are what is now going on the BFR models.

yeah... I'd like to get something done in a SS. I don't mind no flame or quilt, but I'd like birdseye on the neck for sure... and at least a tobacco burst...
