trans green bass?

I have been looking at different basses for a while now and i have decided to go with the music man sterling. The thing is I really would like the transparent green finish they had a few years ago. Does anyone know if its still possible to get this finish?
If not does anyone have advice on painting? I'm not sure what kind of paint to use or what kind of clear coat stuff to use. Any suggestions are welcome.

There are two of these on ebay right now. I kind of like it but it might be a little to flashy for my tastes. I like conservative colors and sunburst style finishes.

That colour is really cool in a "I can't believe it made production" kind-of way! I showed it to my wife who said it would be good in a caribbean band. Otherwise, it's not so nice...

I've been thinking they should do an oil-slick kinda color... That'd be cool.. Greeny/blue oil-slick... Mmmm....
