hey guys. i ordered mine direct from EB, after seeing them disappear on ebay. recieved it in about a week. if your still looking for one its worth a try.!

The problem is we can't get them over here as they are not eec compliant.
maybe something to do with the solder lead content? - shoot I have handled so much lead in my hobby doing stained glass windows I dont think plugging a jack lead into a splitter box is gonna cause me much further harm!!;)

What up guys.
Just so y'all know ... any dealer in the US should not be selling any new EBMM product outside of the US. Unfortunately this dealer had some things listed incorrectly in his Ebay store in regards to shipping. I bleeb he used an outside source to set up his Ebay account .. so there was some miscommunication. Hopefully those of you that did hit up this seller can settle your claim with Ebay or Paypal ?? Sorry, I don't know that much about that world.
The distributor for your area will be able to get you all the EBMM products you need. With that said, let me subract the Splitter Box from the word "all." These have been discontinued and we will no longer sell them. We had to change all of our cables, volume pedals, misc electronic parts over a few shorts years ago to be ROHS compliant. The splitter boxes were not continued, so they were not switched over. We cannot sell these to countries that require ROHS compliancy. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope you guys and gals understand. Thanks!

thanks for the info JO.
In all honesty I was under the impression that this guy was just a dealer who happened to have a consignment of splitters- maybe picked them up in a job lot or a clear out sale. I know that we (in the UK) are not allowed to buy from authorised EB dealers in the US - I was under the impression that he was not a bone fide EB dealer.

Cardiff Guitars and String n things have always been very accommodating in the past - and I look forward to meeting Blind Lemon at the UK bash - you coming over ?

I've got a splitter that I bought from Pete. It totally transformed the way I play my JP. If I loved my JP before I got the splitter, I am totally head over heels in love with it afterward.

I use the piezo with a wet clean channel for almost all of my clean work now.

I got my splitter a few weeks ago for my JP7 and really like the flexibility. The piezo really comes to life through the PA. Plus, I like mixing clean / dirty mags w/the piezo.

To echo earlier posts, even when using the same power source, I get some hum.

(I ordered my splitter direct from Ernie Ball)

Are you using a DI box with ground lift on the splitter's piezo output?

If so, and toggling the ground lift doesn't eliminate 95% of the hum, then the problem is most likely the building wiring. I've used that setup at all kinds of venues and only one time could I not kill the hum completely with the ground lift.

Hi Steve, thanks for the advice. I have used a DI box w/ground lift, so it must be the rehearsal space. Does use of XLR vs. 1/4" make a difference from DI to PA? I assume not, but you never know.

Why were they discontinued? Were they not selling too well? Seems a shame really.

AplleMaC........I shall pay you 5 goats for a custom made splitter if yours turns out to work. I'm not savvy with electronics. I wouldn't trust myself with a soldering iron especially considering there are 2 babies in my gaff. Not too mention the fact that my Girlfriend would probably misuse it by mistaking it for something else! That's why I never let her touch my balls! :D

Give us a shout!

I can make you a splitter?
You'll need a nice metal housing and three jack sockets stereo and two monos - or 3 stereos. ( I can always bridge them) - take a look in Maplins.

Price will be just cost of parts and postage - let me know.

Hi Steve, thanks for the advice. I have used a DI box w/ground lift, so it must be the rehearsal space. Does use of XLR vs. 1/4" make a difference from DI to PA? I assume not, but you never know.

I always use a balanced microphone cable with XLR connectors from the DI to the PA. The balanced cable is designed to cancel hum. If you're using a cable with 1/4-inch jacks, it may or may not be balanced. (If it's only got one ring on the plug end, it's definitely not balanced. If it's got two rings (TRS tip, ring, shield) then it could be a balanced cable).

We rehearse in my drummer's basement, and when I use one particular outlet for my amp, I can't get rid of the hum. Any other outlet, even those on circuits other than the PA system, I can easily defeat the hum with the ground lift. He's definitely got a crappy grounding situation with that one receptacle or circuit.
