Maybe it's just the angle/lighting, but this one looks like it has an Ebony board on it. As far as I know that's not an option, but for me personally, that would be sweet. I like the tonal brightness of ebony, and it'd also look great with both the mahogany neck and the black body finish on this particular BFR. Anyone who was there know if this particular one (in the pic) does have an ebony board?

The top on this one in the pic is just perfection. I love when the grain is visible & runs perpendicularly to the figuring like that.

Here is another pic of another Redwood Stingray. Easier to see it's a Rosewood board. But I do like the way your thinking.

Thanks. I was just wondering if that particular one (the HH in the other pic) had an Ebony board ...thought maybe it was sort of a one-off version, but it might've just been the angle in that pic. Yeah, wouldn't that look great on this thing? The BFR 20th SR5 has an ebony board. That's my favorite wood for fingerboards, both tonally and looks-wise. Needless to say, though, this BFR is stunning either way.

I was a bit torn about the H or HH option. On the one hand, I like the classic SR look of the chrome plate on the single H version. But on the other hand, I'm sure the tonal variety of the HH is going to be stellar. And as for the chrome plate ... when you think about, with a top like this, why cover up any of that precious real estate when ya don't have to? Good call.

The Brown/Maple Sterling 5 is really my dream come true.
I've never been one for gold hardware, but that bass has made me change my mind.
I hate to lose my SR5, but I love the classic teardrop PG so much and that color is jawdropping...I think I'm going to have to sell the SR5!

When I find a sterling 5 at under 9-10lbs...I'm getting it.

I agree completely about the color scheme:

I love the sound of my SR5, however, so I'm afraid I'll have to hold on to that one too!

I'm trying to decide whether I should go with the Sterling or the Bongo, and which pickup configuration to go with. Any input on that would be appreciated.

Best wishes,

The maple on the S5 looks gorgeous. On the other hand, I think the LE2008 is too much of a classic scheme for such a cutting edge instrument as the B6. THe Bongo 6 screams Desert Gold to me :p (or that rad new blue color and pg, what's its name?)

ehehe....I BEGGED for brown during all those "2008LE Color" threads, but I never envisioned a brown as cool as that. I hope it makes a splash and people like the color as much as I do.

The LEs colors are consistently awesome, different, and they all appeal to me. I remember seeing trans. teal and honeyburst for the 1st time and thinking how hot they looked. But these LEs make me want to drop serious cash each and every year. Nice job EBMM color creation guys!
