Hey guys,

i hope ye guys dont mind me mentioning this non EB MM related event on this forum.i am a big fan of U2 not just because im from Ireland myself but they have some fantastic songs and i have massive respect for the Edge as a guitar player even though he doesnt play any balls.

i assume some of you have heard they have released a 3D film of one of their concerts recently and i am only back from the cinema about an hour ago.it was a fantastic show and the technological advances in 3D film are very impressive.

its a must for any U2 fan,but anybody with a love for good music would enjoy it.

you guys should check it out;)

Colin, thanks for the review. I'm a huge fan of U2 -- more their earlier stuff though. The Unforgettable Fire gets some heavy rotation on my iPOD. Did they play much of their older songs (Joshua Tree or older) in the new movie?

ya im a big fan of their older stuff too alrite.the show was filmed in buenos aires in Argintina last yr i think.
theres a good mix of old and new but the special effects are fantastic and the clarity and sound from THE EDGES guitar is out of this world.its definitely wortha look.

3d, cool! How did that work? I remember going to one of the 'Jaws' movies in the early eightees and it was in 3d. Everybody had to wear those glasses with different colours. Red for one eye and green for the other.

I read, in Total Guitar, I think, that Bono said that the next album is going to be heavy. Like a hardcore U2 album.Bono says that they've always wanted to do a heavy, hardcore metal type album and that the Edge is writing great riffs.

Maybe he should get a JP to record the new album? :)

Now THAT would great exposure for EBMM!!!

Love to see him pick up an EBMM ... that would be very cool.

Cool story- I played one of his old Les Pauls, which was cool. My G/F's cousin lives three doors down from Bono in Dublin, and used to play professionally. He bought the guitar from the Edge years ago.

That's a very cool story! It really is a small world. So, what do you think the Edge would play if he picked up an EBMM. I've seen him play strats, LP's, Explorers, and several different archtops. I wonder which EBMM would fit his playing style and sound. Any thoughts?

I was thinking an AL or a Silo. Maybe a 20th Anniversary Silo.

Hey Beej,

cool story, the edge actually only plays all custom type guitar.i saw u2 twice in the last few years, once in the national stadium in dublin&once in slane castle 2001 which is available on DVD to buy.
their one of the best live bands ever to take to the stage.their shows are unbelievable live.you should try and go see them if they go to canada on tour.
