...said a so called expert while we were getting ready for sound check at Friday's gig. I think after we smoked for 3 sets of various originals and covers ranging from Sam Cooke through Zeppelin, Elvis Costello, The Band and The Raconteurs, that he saw things differently...

after the 2nd set he said he hadn't known that single PUs EBMMS were so responsive to right hand placement and attack..and said that it was a credit to my bassplaying that I could pull it off. HA! It was hardly my skills that pulled it off. It was the killer SUB I was playing.

Anyways after the gig he was 100% converted!!!

Pudgy, let me tell you a story.

A few years ago, there was some guy in my village who also was a bassplayer, and he was also the manager of his own band. He had a trans blue 3BD Ray. I had never heard him sound alive with this bass. Always sounding poor, dull, whatever you call it.

Now let some months go by, and later the guy decides the management of his band is a full-time job and gives up playing bass. He recruits a bass player and the band goes on (and still goes on today with pretty much success). Some short time later I am going to the local music shop and what do I see ? The trans blue Ray, for sale, on consignment. I ask the dealer if I can try it out. Of course he says yes.

Man, that Ray was a killer one. Tone and rage for days.

So please let me disagree with this :

thats true...but his original prejudice was the idea that EBMMs are a one trick pony...he said something to the effect of them not being able to produce fat, warm tones...just not true.
