The definitive list of white pup questions. (at the moment)

I will start by again stating that I am a huge fan of the white pup in combo with a white or white ice pick guard. My Honeyburst SR5 has the former.

So, over the last couple of months I have read and contributed to a number of threads around the theme of "white pickups" on EBMM basses.

In those threads a number of questions were asked of the forum and as far as I am aware most were not answered.

So I have compiled my own version of them (and added answers to the ones I know).

1. Does EBMM still offer a white pickup for the Stingray 5?

2. Is the Sterling 5 going to have a white pickup option?

3. Did the Stingray 5 ever come out with a white pickup in the new format? i.e. notched vs soapbar. (I have seen ONE Stingray 5 in the new format - 2007)

4. Did EBMM ever make a 4 string white pickup? (I know they were around pre-EB).

5. Did a HH or HS Stingray 5 ever come with a white pickup otion?

6. Will a Sterling 4, Stingray 4, or Bongo (all) ever come with white pickups in the future?

7. Does the recent change to Alnico magnets for Stingray 5 pickups have any influence on the white pickup offering??

Hey Guys (and Girls), here are some answers to your pickup cover inquiries:

1) We still offer a white pickup cover on the Stingray 5 H depending upon what color pickguard you want. If you order a black pickguard you'll get a black cover. A white pickguard gets you a white cover.

2) We have no current plans to offer the Sterling5 with white pickup covers.

3) Yes. See answer 1.

4) The only white cover SR4's will be pre-Ernie Ball.

5) No. The dual pickup basses have always featured black pickup covers.

6) There are no current plans for this.

7) No.

Now I'm being tormented again!

I was told by Customer Service, that the PUP covers are GLUED on so that you can't change them.

It's not fair I tell ya....
