As you can see, my quest for a 30th came to an end. With this post I want to officially thank Rex and Jordan, who both were kind enough to offer me a great deal for their 30th Anniversary StingRays. They're both awesome instruments in mint condition. Thank you very much!!

I'd also like to thank Ole for the GAS inflicting thread of his Crimson Twins. He planted the idea somewhere deep in the back of my mind to get both, a fretted and fretless version of the 30th Anniversary StingRay. What a great idea!!!

Moreover I want to thank all of you who helped me with hints on deals and with actual offers.

And finally, naturally, I'd like to thank Sterling for making such fine instruments!

To all others: If you love the StingRay, and don't have a 30th yet, do yourself a favor and check one out if you can. Or order right away without ever having played or seen one in the wood, like I did.

Love & Peace,

Oliver.

twins are twice the fun ;)

glad you enjoy em!

and for those who havent tried the anniversary basses.. do yourself a favour and check em out!
the 20th sr5 has the fattest sound ever on any 5 string bass ive ever tried, but yet it has tone definition and zing. its so alive you can barely tell the difference between an open e and a fretted e on the b string! now try that on your average basses kids (famous words stolen from our leader ;))

Hey Oliver, those are beauties! Glad you were able to find 2 in such great condition!

On a side note, my wife's family is Swiss and I may be in Switzerland this fall for a visit. It would be great to meet up if you could.

Cheers and congrats again on a great score!

+1 This is now my main bass that I use every night. I just love the versatility of this bass!
