Alex has joined us playing the Silhouette guitar. He tours in Europe, Asia, Japan many months out of the year and will be showing off the SIL as his main ax. Here is some info...

Alex Masi was born in Venice, Italy where he grew up in an artistic family that gave him an appreciation for all artistic expressions from a very early age.
After graduating at the Conservatory of Verona Alex moved to London, UK, where he played with various up and coming band belonging to the NWOBHM period.
Upon returning to Venice he met the musicians who became part of DARK LORD, a seminal band in the emerging Italian heavy metal scene.
With DARK LORD Alex toured all of Europe extensively opening for bands like SAXON, MOTORHEAD, GARY MOORE etc
In 1986 Alex was offered to join an already existing band based in Los Angeles, he packed his bags and became the new guitarist for SOUND BARRIER.
The record label then decided to change the name of the band to MASI as the era of the guitar heroes was at its highest point.
MASI recorded two albums for Metal Blade/Capitol Records. The video for the single "GOD PROMISED A PARADISE" was on Heavy Rotation on MTV's Headbanger's ball.
After various tours with Triumph, Joe Satriani, Slayer, Paul Stanley, Blue Oyster Cult etc Alex decided to record his first solo album "ATTACK OF THE NEON SHARK". That album feature ALLAN HOLDSWORTH who has always been one of Alex's biggest inspirations. "ATTACK OF THE NEON SHARK" received a Grammy Nomination for BEST INSTRUMENTAL ROCK ALBUM.
In more recent years Alex has recorded a trilogy of classical albums dedicated to three of his favorite composers: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven. "IN THE NAME OF BACH" was a Best Seller in Europe and single handedly put the emerging Lion Music label on the map.
In 2007 Alex Masi released "LATE NIGHTS AT DESERT RIMROCK", a solo instrumental album in which he played all instruments except for drums. "LATE NIGHTS..." has been an amazing critical success worldwide.
The latest release featuring Alex Masi is "1900, Hard Times" by MCM (Masi, Coven, Macaluso) recorded live during a tour of South and North America.
Alex Masi has also appeared on countless recording by other artists such as Joseph Williams (TOTO), Snoop Dogg, Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN), Carmine Appice, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Tony Franklin, Frankie Banali, Jeff Scott Soto etc
Currently Alex is working on a new project that will feature several surprises both in terms of style, personnel, label and sounds.

Congrats and welcome.

And good choice in antique radios for the website. His website main image shows the dial face of a 1939 Zenith....

A hobby of mine, though no longer in pursuit was collecting and restoring antique radios, and predominately Zenith sets from the 1930's. Each year their dial face changed and collectors can usually easily age a set by the dial face design.

Alex Masi is a guitar genius, I remember my friend lent me one of his album back in 90's, my fav album from him is Vertical Invader, Masi definitely has a unique style on his playing. It's very cool to learn that he join EBMM family, yeah!!

I've just seen this video on Youtube:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FUbaEWdYuw]YouTube - Alex Masi and the Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette Guitar[/ame]

And it got me wondering. What pickups does Alex have in that black Silo? The stock ones (Virtual PAF's) ? Or is this a custom build? I really love the sound when he's playing at 2:43. :)

Sorry for bumping such an old thread...
