Well after years watching posts here in this site i decided to make a profile here to share opinions and try to help people ( or be helped in this case)
i think i found the way to get the 70's stingray sound with a new stingray.
ive got too many doubts about stingrays cos here where i live ( a****ty island from spain) theres no place where i can get or test one
so after years watching videos of stingrays, and learning about them i found a guy playing an ''stingray'' and it sounded THE SAME that older versions... here is the video

amazing right? just let me tell you that its not really an stingray
it's an OLP MM2 with Seymour Duncan SMB4-a Pickup and and original Musicman stingray neck!
I found this really interesting cos seymour duncan has got that pickup that rescues that classic stingray sound, i think its amazing right?
im so happy cos i madly wanted an old stingray but couldnt have enough money ( or not enough luck to find it in the colour i want) to buy one. ive been searching this sound for yearss!
but the question is the following ( cosi had never tested a new stingray) so....
can a brand new stingray with the single humbucker pickup sound like the bass that the guy plays in the video?
heres again the link

anyway hes got more videos of the bass in his account, the bass got an amazing sound so
now its time for stingray users to tell me if a new sr can sound like that ''stingray'' of the video
