Got a chance to play a Luke last night and the neck felt very much like my Silo Special except with a slight V. Are these necks the closest match of all of the EBMMs? Also I've noticed that Silo Spec necks vary in their contour. Is this also true with the Luke? Also off the subject but for those interested, I put a maple SS neck on an Albert Lee since I like the shape better but it made the AL sound thinner and to my ears took away the great tone of the bridge/middle combo position which is Albert's trademark sound. Then I tried a SS rosewood neck and some of the high end sparkle was gone. So I learned how much that AL neck and it's shape plays a major role in the guitars sound and how perfect it is for that guitar. By the way, in switching these necks they all fit like gloves.

My brother has a Luke (w/ Floyd) that was built either the first or second year they debuted. Mint condition. 'Been trying to sell it to me for years. Best neck I've ever played but I hate Floyds.

Some variation, not much. The very first Luke I ordered back in '02 seems to have the smallest neck of all of mine (and therefore the biggest variation). It's my favorite neck to learn things on as the hand grips are a bit easier...but it's my least favorite sounding of mine so I mostly use it unplugged.
Come to think of it, I mostly use all my guitars unplugged at home.

I have only played an Albert Lee for a while at the Guitar Center, but to me it felt like the neck of the AL was very very similar to the Silo Spec.

For me, the AL neck is much bigger on all of mine comapred to my silo specials, they are all pretty thin.

I have two Lukes and I can't spot a difference in the necks. Very consistent. The two guitars definately sound different to each other, but that's obviously related to the different body wood...the BFR "growls" more (best word I can find to describe it). (I love that growl!!!!)
