I've had bad GAS for a fretless for some time now. I've got a new SR5 honeyburst fretless on order, but it won't be ready until June sometime. I went browsing on the web and found this bass, which I just purchased. Should arrive sometime next week. Check out the back of the neck! And the mutes are still intact!
I can hardly wait.

This will be my first fretless. Any hints for learning to play it? Flats or rounds? All advice appreciated!

Beautiful neck.

Just play it, but yes, Pino Palladino is the man. As well as Paul Young also try Nick Heyward North of a Miracle, the first Go West album, Gary Numan I, Assassin and Joan Armatrading Secret Secrets

I have several fretless basses and have some strung with flats but most are strung with rounds. Flats have their merits but if you like lots of mwah go with rounds and fairly low action. Beautiful bass BTW. Oh ya, I have rounds on my SR5.

Agree with roundwounds and practice! A fretless will perfect your technique. I personally think everyone should have one at one point just to point out imperfections in technique. Tremendously fun instruments to play though.
