so I just left the phoenix GC and man what a great to do they had there. Kieth stayed the extra time and The Rookie showed up. I always enjoy hanging with Kieth. This was the first time I've met the Rookie and what a cool person. Hopefully the party will happen later this summer.

I even brought another guitar playing friend from Tucson with me. (I'm so trying to get him to play EBMM but the horse to water theroy applies here)

Anyway, Satch played 5 songs and talked about the composition of each one. What a wonderful show! I've said before the reason I play EBMM is from seeing Morse at a clinic. I could easily see that happening here with Satch tonight.

I know these clinics can be a nightmare to put on but they really are cool when they happen. I'm glad I got to attend.

Thanks to GDub for bringing it to our attention.

Nrom, it's spelled KEITH.

That was so entertaining. I gotta drop marty an e-mail at GC to let him know how much we enjoyed it and hope that he's able to bring other fine players in. Joe was just bubbling with enthusiasm and information.

Norm.. It was great to meet you finally and you do need to work on getting your buddy to playing EBMM's. Keith, glad you hung out in PHX an extra day. Let us know when your back this way...

All in all, Satch was great to see in person and just as humble as could be. It's great to see artists like that come with their game and a little gab as well.
Looks like he's got 4 more west coast cities to hit this week. If anybody is near one of these, it's definitely WORTH IT!

Exactly Glenn. We were all talking how it might even be better than a concert. I think he played 6 tunes to backing tracks. Flying in a blue dream, satch boogie, always with me, and three from the new one...

but he talked about the challenges of writing and playing each and what was going on in his head at the time. one comment he mad that stuck out is that he looks at his music like a diary of his life and the inspiration along the way.

Keith, yah man that the same stuff he did up here. For me it was especially great because it was the first show and the first time he said he had done this sort of thing.

I'm really glad you guys got to go man, truly something not to miss.

I hope Marty pops in because, I went back last week to GC and I was talking to one of the guys there and he was pumped that they did it and it was just as exciting for them.

I was thinking that maybe Marty being at the EBMM things gave him the idea to do this type of thing.

Yeah, there were tons of GC employess around. Must've come from all over phoenix to see. Also Joe said how this gc tour was really helping him figure out hoe he'll play some of this new material live on his next tour...so it's a great practice run for him in addition to being so cool for us.

What songs did he play? I came almost a half hour late and caught the last 3/4 of Always with Me, Always with You and Satch Boogie. What else did he play? I think he mentioned playing Musterion, but what else?

Anyway, awesome clinic. I learned a few things, got to see him play, AND I got to meet him and get an autograph. Really nice and cool person!

You missed Flying in a Blue Dream and (what I think were) two songs from his new CD. Next time please PM someone so we can give you a cell # and you can meet us for dinner.
