I love all the replies.
I took the bass (holy grail) out last night and it sang like the angels from above.
I owned a couple of EBs a couple of years ago and the mint one stayed home and the used one went out. I guess I will just save my loonies (Canadian) to pick up a new one in the future. I guy I deal with at my local music store said he just ordered a Stealth Bongo4 and it will probably come in a few months soooo maybe I will have enough saved for it.

I have brand new (less than 2 months) 30th Anni SR, 2007 LE SR and a SR5. All of them have been giiged in dumpy bars. I buy them to play them.

You must be referring to either fenders or ibanez's prestige

If it's not a limited edition or anniversary bass, I don't see any reason not to gig it. You can always replace it wth a new one, if anything happens (and you surely have your instruments insured, have you?)
