But I still haven't decided if I should go for trem or hardtail. Will the trem affect the tone or bending ability negatively? I've noticed that on some strats, you can't really do bends without the bridge raising. Is the AL trem more stable? And does it stay in tune well generally?

Secondly. Will the AL cover all my Strat needs and most my Tele needs, even if it ain't for country chicken pickin'? I'm thinking of using it for every need where I generally would use a Strat or Tele, and use my Axis SS for my Les Paul needs...

Comments?

Stays in tune and is very stable. It is not a floating trem setup from the factory, although I believe it can be set up that way.

MM90's - completely versatile

Well, I got spoiled by the JP6 that NEVER goes out of tune. So I got a trem AL That needs to be tuned more often, but stays in tune reasonable well with light trem use. If tuning is a huge issue for you, go hardtail or buy a JP6

it CAN be setup for float?????

of course it can, any trem can! Just undo the trem claw screws in the rear cavity a few turns and the trem will rise off the body. After all thats how the Luke is setup and that uses the same vintage trem as the albert and ASS....

Great choice. The 90's AL should be able to handle what you are looking for and, if you prefer the trem then you should go that way. Tuning and stability should not be an issue. Although I've never had the fortune to see him in person, most footage of Albert I've seen has him playing a trem model. The 90's are their own animal and cover a lot of ground.

Good luck with it
