Honestly, there are many guitar makers out there which offer good quality products. Well made, and sound good. So why are EBMMs worth buying over these things? Ok, granted, the small body and narrower necks aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they fit my hands perfectly. And honestly, being asian, while I know the guitars weren't designed with us in mind, I'll have to say, the overall build and proportion is PERFECT for the asian market...

But here's a list of the stuff in Balls which I think make the guitars a superior product compared to the competitors:

  • short headstock - no string trees or angled headstocks required to ensure angled tension on all strings.
  • Compensated nut - For pitch perfect tuning. Of course, the minor drawback is that it's not that accurate for alternative tunings.
  • 10" radius necks - Perfect balance for chording and leads.
  • medium jumbo frets - I like jumbos, like those on the JP6, but i find myself getting more and mroe engaged with the guitar with those medium jumbos on Silos...
  • Easy access truss rod adjustments - C'mon man... makes DIY jobs a breeze. neck bends a bit? turn it yourself!
  • Quartersawn necks - These are expensive to buy off the shelf for other companies. They usually give other cuts which are cheaper. yet they charge EBMM pricing. Why pay more for less?
  • piezo options - erm.. the last I checked, no one else offers this great fishman solution with EQ. Until now. I heard that some other big brands are offering this at a stupidly expensive price...
And the best bits?

The standard trems come with brass blocks. Which other company do you know offers this as a standard option on trems? I was very pleasantly surprised to find this out...

The funny thing is, these are things that EBMM owners have learnt to expect from a guitar thanks to their EBMMs, and have become dissappointed in some of the standard offerings from other brands. But EBMM doesn't highlight these things as USPs in their sales materials, do they? I think they should it's a powerful message.

And the customer service... need I say more?:D

Those reasons are why my hard earned american dollars have been on the table for EBMM my last 4 new guitar purchases.

I'd add to all these reasons some more:

- Balls always stay in tune
- They always look great
- They sound amazing each time you play
- There is a magic between you and your instrument
- They are made with passion and precision
- They match every single music genre

best,
Mike

The most important thing to me was the consistency in quality. the EBMM guitar is the only one in it's price range I'd buy on the internet and be sure it will play and sound great. Not, just good, freaking great! If JP, SM, AL and all the others plays this very same guitars, ACTUAL PRODUCTION MODELS, and affordable, there can't possibly be a better choice!

The fact that you can have a SUB1 for about 40%-70% of the cost of some chinese-made, heavily marketed guitars. That's right, a genuine, top quality MM for less than some of the chinese junk ;)

i love the fretwork!! nobody mentions how level the frets are! oh, oh.. and the shine on the them.. im sure somebody spend too much time polishing!
you can spot something between your teeth on em.. from 2 feet away ;)

but most of all i love the style of the company.. where else do you get to talk to the ceo and hear his opinions on matters everybody in music industry deals with every day?
where else does the company do what it can to cheer up an aussie al lover with a kid with serious troubles medically wise??
where else does the ceo want to move forward instead of cashing in on the backward.. err past i mean ;)

lots of things that add up! and then add excellent instruments on top of that and you have a mix that cant be beaten!

I'm not even sure it's considered shelf level hardware... Brass blocks, Silent Circuit and them sparkle paints are usually boutique level hardware... And you don't pay boutique level prices! Imagine buying a Suhr or a Tyler or a DePrego, and you don't even get these things!!!!

The things I love about my Balls, is the consistent high guality of every aspect. That makes all Balls play great, but even that wouldn't be enough if it weren't for the incredible tone. That's the key to why my money gets spent on Balls, TONE, TONE, TONE.
