Do any of you happen to have any soundclips of a Stingray strung with flats? I'm trying to find a sample before I try it. I have the John Fogerty "Long Road Home" dvd and I've been told the bassist is using flats on that Stingray. Any information would be appreciated.

Go YouTube and search Radar Love and bass. Someone from here posted it and they have flats on their Ray. I'm pretty sure its a Ray. Good luck !

A good thing, indeed.

James, there are apparently some youtube clips of my band. Not a Stingray but a Bongo, but still has that EBMM+flats kind of thing going, if you're interested.

There are quite of few clips from a Club Dada show in Dallas. I have to say...it was a treat watching a Bongo in action being played by Lord Bongo himself!

Great stuff Jack!

Well, thanks! All of that Club Dada stuff was recorded and uploaded by our own dear Professor Strangeglow. And we really liked playing there. Club Dada is one of those clubs that you have to play if you hope to be taken seriously around here. I was pretty sure we'd bomb; many of the bands that play there are very serious and polished and hoping for that big break, things Cowpilot giggled about. Who knew? They loved us.

Anyway, that's definitely a Bongo with flats. I have to get around to converting this videotape I have of us at an outdoor festival. The local news guys interviewed Brian and had us on for about thirty seconds, but Heinz (in his last great cowpilot gig) sounded MASSIVE, albeit rather briefly.

Thanks to everyone for the links and suggestions. This has really made me want another Musicman to keep strung with flats but the hard part will be deciding which one. I hadn't even considered the Bongo, but now a single H with piezo seems like as good of a choice as any. I'm sure pics and a review from me aren't far down the road...
