Hey guys,
The lid straps on the case of my original Blue Dawn JP6 has come loose again. This makes the 3rd time they've came loose. I've tried putting glue on them and pushing them back up between the foam and plastic of the case but it's only a temporary fix. Is there anyway that I can take the top foam out and fix this properly? It's kinda funny because this case has two straps and both straps have come loose but on the case of my Carbon Blue Pearl JP6 only has one strap that has never came loose. Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried the hot glue and super glue. The main problem is just getting to the area well enough to properly secure it with the glue. I'd even thought about using a screw, washer and nut or a rivet to secure it but again, I still can't get to the proper area because of the foam.

I also have the same problem with my JP6 case. Don't know how to fix it either.

To an uninformed troglodyte like myself, aren't all the MM guitar cases the same? What makes the JP case so susceptible to this kind of mayhem? I've never had a problem with any of my MM cases in the past...

Yeah, it's fairly old so I can't complain. It's just kinda frustrating when I go play somewhere and I've got this really nice guitar and the case has a floppy lid. Plus ,I just like keeping my stuff in tip top shape. Has anyone ever taken the foam out of the top of an EBMM case? I just don't want to screw it up more!

If you are the original owner of the guitar, and have your sales receipt, the SKB cases have a lifetime warrantee. Contact SKB and ask how to go about getting a replacement.

Has anyone ever taken the foam out of the top of an EBMM case?

Mine actually fell out about the third day I had it. I was opening it, and I held it in a way that my hand was depressing the top a bit, and it just popped out. I put a little bit of fresh glue on it and pushed it back in, and it's been fine since. So, yours might come out easily.

My strap has come loose too.

Gonna take it to a mates shop (Does leather repairs) and he'll rivet it for me.

I guess though that an ordinary Car rivet tool would do it as long as you used washers with the rivet.

On reflection, I'll take it to my mates shop - the brass rivets he uses are prettier and his shop is next to Cardiff Guitars!!
