Are you a Guitar Idol?

Well, first off, I somehow ran into this (international) competition ( Guitar Idol 2008 ) of guitarists and was wondering if there was anyone that played EBMM entered? Or how bout any fourm members? It would be great to see some of you awesome shredders of EBMM’s entered..

Secondly, when I saw who was currently leading the competition, I was quite surprised…ok... pretty shocked!

Now a story..

Last September I had embarked online to order some tickets to go see Trans Siberian Orchestra here in PHX. During my search and while on YouTube, I had seen a Vid. Of them performing Canon Rock.. Well, that link took me to another similar Canon Rock Vid made by some “kid”. After I watched his vid, I couldn’t actually believe what I was hearing from a then 16 yr. old. It was the most completely put together “Christmas like” rock song I’d ever heard. I think I listened to it every day for a month.. The more I listened to his playing, the more I couldn’t believe what I was hearing from this 16 yr. old French kid. The more I listened, the more I knew I wanted to drop my drumsticks and learn to play guitar. Well, it’s now 8 months later, and tonight I was quite shocked to see the MATTRACH is currently winning the Guitar idol competition.

At one point I wanted to buy a 7VWH just to sound like him (and Vai).. but, the more I looked and read about (quality) guitars, the more I wanted to buy EBMM which led me to my 20th.

It would be really cool to see Mattrach hooked up with EBMM and playing a JP6 (or insert his choice of EBMM here). He sold that JEM and has been strictly playing a Tele ever since.

Sorry if you've all seen Mattrach or already know of him but just thought I’d share who influenced this 42 yr. old pick up and learn the gee-tar.

I'm glad EBMM is now involved and hoping Mattrach will head home to France with and EBMM in his hand Perhaps if he wins and you get to present him his guitar, could you try talking some sense into him and get him to convert to EBMM

It would be great to see the finals and really... how cool would it be to win and open up for Satch

Lots of talented players, I'm an old fart, just wanted to have a go - but if I can get blind lemon drunk enough perhaps I can get a ball back on the plane with me and we could rig it like the oscars?

The final is the same day as the bash - I don't think I'll need to worry about stage makeup!!!!
