I picked up my BFR Redwood SR4 HH Thursday. BP, I just wanted to say ... wow. What a work of art. And it's more than just the top, it's how beautifully and well done everything is, from the binding and the mahogany neck, to the range of uniquely voiced great sounds it has. I'll spend most of my time in positions 3, 1 and 2 (in that order), but they all sound fabulous. The open, chunky sound of position 5 on the SR4 HH basses I've played normally doesn't appeal to me, but I even like that one too on this bass. Hats off, on the whole package. What a gorgeous instrument.

Pics HERE.

I'm telling you all, Ernie Ball Basses are the ****, I don't own 200 of these because they are cute, These basses are the best on this Planet.

WOW! Congrats!

Do they make the BFR in a 5er?

Thanks all for the congrats, I'm enjoying it (can you say "understatement"?)

jlepre, not the Redwoods, but the 20th Anniversary SR5 was made available in a BFR edition as well. More limited availability than these, as only 10 were made. Drop dead gorgeous. Tahitian Blue finish on top-grade figured Maple tops, Ash body with Mahogany tone block, insanely figured Maple necks (with gorgeous matching translucent finish), and Ebony fretboards. Nice, huh? Pete has one in stock, check it out: Welcome to the new DuBaldo Music Center website!.

I know of the bass that you speak, unfortunately it is WAY out of my price range. :(

Oh believe me, it's a player. :)

You are a good man. I would expect no less!:p:D

I play my LE and 30th in dumpy bars or anywhere else. They are meant to be played.

I draw the line when I host jam nights. Nobody is playing Mustang Sally or Sweet Home Alabama while hammered on my Balls!;)

Mine is taking a detour to Connecticut before arriving back home in California! I can't wait...hurry up already.

What a stunner! Anyone know which dealers in Europe will,( or are already), selling the Stingray BFR´s?
