"The Stingray has hemotoxic venom while the Sterling has neurotoxic venom."

The Sterling really is a Stingray because the Sterling is actually a 4-string version of the Stingray5, which is a 5-string version of the Stingray. The Sterling5 is also a Stingray because it has the same electronics as the old Stingray5, which is a 5-string version of the Stingray.

Tell me about it... I got stung by one of those bastards when I was swimming in Huntington Beach about 20 years ago. Hurt like hell. Oh yeah, Sterling has stung me with sarcasm once or twice as well. The Stingray was worse.

Personally, I think the Stingray (especially the 30th) is one of the best looking basses available today. However, I did learn, while in the desert, there's no bigger chick magnet than Sterling.
