Hey guys,

My name is Mike and I'm a recovering Fender nut.

My pusher, who has been a long time MM dealer, keeps getting cool stuff in and I feel that it might be time to come to the Music Man side.

I'd love to hear some feedback and see some pics of the Blue Steve Morse models.

Thanks!

Hi Mike (Great name too, lol)

Yeah, MM is known for being the "best" guitar and & bass rehab around. It will be a nice pleasant "recovery" for you!

And, don't worry, the recidivism rate is "0"!!

Thank you all very much! I've had my eye on a SM since I bought my first Guitar World with EVH on the cover in 1987.

From what I can tell from the MM site, it would appear that there are other color choices available on the Morse? I've been playing Strats, Teles, and PRS guitars for years and I'm not sure if I want to go hardtail or step "out of bounds" (for me) and go Floyd.

I love mine. It's as versatile as a July day is long. Some folks don't like the fact that there's no forearm or belly contours. I've played Teles so long, that's not an issue for me; in fact, it's a plus. I can really feel the guitar. The necks on the new ones have the Y2D profile, which is a little thinner being modeled after Steve's #1. Mine is a blue burst with a standard bridge. The finish is a little darker than I've seen before. Beej's is the lightest I've ever seen.

While the pickups were very nice, I did change out the humbuckers for a DiMarzio Air Zone/Air Norton combo. I also changed out the 250k tone pot to a 500k push/pull post that splits both humbuckers.

There was a thread once, were it was discussed, which changes the Morse had over the years and someone (maybe tommyindelaware?) menitioned, that EBMM changed the way of producing the Blueburst. That´s why the newer ones are darker than the older ones. Mine is rather dark too, which I love.
