Well I just turned 25 yesterday and my stimilus check came this week so I had some funds laying around. Combine that with my recent hardcore GAS for another EBMM JP model and you get the following:
The guy bought it in 2003 (or so he said, anyone know for sure if this was a 2003 model?) brand new and played it a few times only to throw it in the case. He had Petrucci sign it at a clinic he held at WMC and then again put it back in the case. It still has the stock (corroded now
) strings on it and the board hasn't been oiled since then. I think once I get it oiled up back to a natural glow this thing is going to be a killer addition to my harem.
Check out all that birdseye in the neck too!
The pictures are from the seller so I'll take some better ones once the sun comes back out again. I was just so excited that I had to share and spread the JP goodness!
Does anyone know if there is any chance that EBMM might switch back to the older JP DiMarzio custom-wound pickup in the bridge position? I've had a few JPs now but they were all post D-Sonic era and I didn't realize how great they could sound stock since the D-Sonic (IMO) does a great disservice to these fantastic guitars in the bridge position.
I *REALLY* love these older bridge pickups, much nicer tone to them and seem to work great for metal.
