I've never played a 20th Anniversary Silo before. I was curious - does the top curve back slightly like it does on a standard Silo? I'm talking about the area from which you're picking arm would lay over the body. I'm probably not describing this well at all.

My second question relates to the switch. I looked for a schematic but couldn't find one. When in the center position, I'm assuming both HB's are active. Is that correct? Or is it like the JP6 where the two inner coils are active?

Two very simple questions!!!

1) Yes, the body top is contoured - just the same way it is on every silhouette/silhouette special

2) The 3-position switch works like this: 1- Neck HB, 2- Both HBs (and not only the middle coils, like on a JP), 3 - Neck HB.

And one thing to add - they are AWESOME guitars. Grab one while You can!!!

I didn't realize the middle position was both HBs... I always thought they were split. (Honestly, I don't care for that position, I much prefer 1 or 3).

I would if I could find one with RW and matching HS. I'd get it in a second!!!! Piezo would be the icing on the cake :)

The middle on the 20th is both humbuckers, and I've found that a very nice "in-between" tone exists there. I think this is the same wiring as an LP, though I could be wrong. But I never realised how nice this middle position is on an LP... It's very sweet on the 20th...:D

I'm sure that's not difficult. Just keep your eyes open and get ready to pounce when it's there. I've got 2 RWs, and I'm in Singapore. So I don't think it's going to be harder for you than it was for me.:D

I believe there was one up for sale in the "for Sale Thread" recently?

Yeah, it's a seller in Europe and the Euro-to-Dollar exchange rate is a killer right now. For that much, I could get an AL BFR :)

I'll keep watching. My local GC has one in stock that's a RW non-matching hardtail. I really prefer the look of a matching HS on the 20th. I'm going to swing up there this week to try it out and get a feel for the guitar.

Another question about colors. I seem to see what I'd call shades of the carmel burst color on the 20th. This is either due to different cameras and different lighting conditions when the pictures are taken -- or else there is some variation in the colors from guitar to guitar.

I'd describe the differences of these two shades as either more brown or more red. Here are some pics:

The dark tones (more brown)

The lighter tones (more red)

So, my question is this: Am I crazy or do the colors vary this much from guitar to guitar? Just curious. The only 20th I've seen in person was dark like the first example above. It was very nice. I'm not sure I like that second picture that much. It almost looks like a vintage sunburst. Is it just the lighting???

It is definitely an amazing guitar. I'm about to rock out on mine. Now concerning the color, I would say this picture of mine is a very good representation of how the color looks in natural light. A lot of pics taken with flash or inside without direct sunlight are very misleading. Taking pictures of guitars is quite a task.

It's odd. I'm checking this thread on a different comput/monitor and that second picture I posted doesn't look nearly as red (on the outside) and yellow (on the inside) as it does on my other computer. That must have a lot to do with it as well.

It's not really red... More like an orangey brown...

Bingo, when they first came out they did nothing for me and then I located exactly what I was considering before they came out.

If you can get one, do it man, great guitars. :)

The 20th is a fantastic guitar, I really love mine and the top on Glenn's one is brilliant.

If you e-mail CS, they might be able to point you in the direction of any store that might still have one in stock. They also pop up on e-bay from time to time as well.

You guys are killing me! I'm pretty close to make a move. I just need to decide whether I want a hardtail or tremelo. I'm leaning towards a tremelo. We'll see.

I'd say Hardtail, but that's me. Good luck on your decision man, you won't regret it either way.
