Pkomor, welcome, and yes, there is a very good chance - your Trans Teal/maple StingRay was completed on Jan 24 2003 - it was originally shipped to Strings & Things Ltd, our esteemed U.K. distributor.

kylierider, your new-to-you StingRay was completed on 10/22/92 and was shipped to the now-defunct Thoroughbred Music Company in Tampa, Florida. It is listed as "special" but unfortunately does not say why - I am guessing a limited finish? Or it could be a "Flea" bridge - don't really know - pictures?

yes, your Sunburst/Rosewood StingRay bass was completed on 2/05/99 and was shipped to the old Veneman Music Company in Rockville, MD, now a GC.

nj, Congrats on your first Music Man! 4/01/05 is your guitar's build date. The finish is called Textured (as all SUBs were) Graphite. It was originally shipped to the now-defunct Guitars & More in Indianapolis. Shall I repeat that?

Ahh - Trans White. The Trans White finish (affectionately known as the "Mary Kay" finish) did not get its own official set of stock numbers until April 1993. As was common practice in those earlier days, sometimes instruments with new finishes would come out under "special" until it was decided to continue to offer that finish or not. The one you have is likely one of the first, but there is no way to know the sequental order as it was not recorded that way.

Old Stingray

I just traded for a 70's vintage MM Stingray, serial # B008132, my old bassplayer bought it new at the Chicago Store in Tucson, but he can't remember the year. Any help dating it will be greatly appreciated. I'm about to tear it down and give a good cleaning and set-up. Thanks.MC
