Elad, your 2-Band EQ StingRay (serial #E15435) was completed on 7/03/00 and was shipped to Corner Music Nashville. We show it as having a Vintage Sunburst finish, maple neck with a matching headstock.

On your pre-Eb StingRay, we unfortunately have no information. You might check Gav's website: www.musicmanbasses.org (please read disclaimer above in post #2592)

Cheers,

Dan

thanks Dan!
I guess it's now appropriate to unify two of my hobbies - bass playing and Tennessee whiskey.
would sure make my bass playing sound better (to me at least).

Hi!

I purchased in Hilversum Netherlands a beautiful 4-string Honeyburst Stingray 3eq, with maple fretboard, serialnumber E56143.

I am intrested in the completed date, and whether is on record if it's a one piece body or not (It sure does not show as to be a two piece, commen for any non natural finish I thought)

cheers!
Michel

Michel, congratulations on your new bass! Your bass was completed on 11/16/06 and shipped to the Netherlands. Our records do not tell us how many pieces of wood were used to make the body. Here's how to tell: look at the strap button below the tailpiece (bridge). If it is a two piece that is where it would be evident. Otherwise it could be a one or a even a 3-piece. The way we place the woods in our bodies makes it difficult to tell.

Stingray Info

Hi,

I just bought a new Stingray 5 in melbourne Australia, (I live in New Zealand).

Its a 5H, white with white pickguard, maple neck. The serial number is E57175.

What can you tell me about this bass?

I am curious as to why it has the scooped ends on the pickup and therefore a different shaped cutout in the pickguard..? I was a bit surprised by it as I bought it sight unseen and hadnt seen this before on other stingrays.. It also has the battery cavity further toward the neck compared to others ive seen..?

Sounds and plays great though..

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Mike.

Hi Dan!

Thanks a lot for the infos!

When you said "an original Blue Dawn" ... what did you mean by "original"?
Is it a rare/special one?

Because I'm thinking about replacing my SR5 H for a Sterling5 HS... Is it a big mistake? Am I selling a piece of collection...?

Regards,

Pascal!

When I say "original", what I mean is that the Blue Dawn was a regular production color from 2000-2002, then it was discontinued. However, it was so popular we decided to bring it back last year (2007) as a Limited Edition. Yours was one of the original production runs. Not that it is particularly rare, but perhaps more sought-after because of its popularity.
