at this moment i own 3 Stingray's:

2-e.q./maple/sunburst/white PG/serial: E46633

3-e.q./maple/natural/black PG/serial: E60433

3-e.q./rosewood/black/black PG/serial: E63633

i find it very coincident that the last 2 digits are the same for all the basses, and for 2 basses the last 3 digits....

i'm having plans on selling or trading my Fender basses (except my 1st bass which me and my dad made fretless 8 years ago), so i can go over completely to M.M.

Bassman, that is very interesting how those serial numbers match!

E46633 - 4/26/06 shipped to Bass Central

E60433 - 07/03/07 shipped to Voerman Amesfoort in either Denmark or Holland.

E63633 - 10/10/07 likewisw above!

Nice collection! ;)

Leonl, welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your new bass! It was completed on 10/03/06. Looks like nothing has changed, the specs all match up. It was originally sent to GC.

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks, Dan. It is truly an excellent and beautiful bass.

I have to find out now how it managed to get here (I'm chilean).

How old is it ?

Hi, can anybody help me to know when my bass was built, it's a SR4, with 3 EQs, maple neck, with a black pickguard and its body is trans purple.

Last thing I can tell U: its serial number is E20467.

I think it was made at the begening of 2001, but I'm not really sure.

Thank for your answers.

Hey Dan - I'm looking for info on my newly purchased SUB Sterling purchased Monday during my local GC's Memorial Day sale. The serial number is X12932 and it's finished in "Cinnamon", personally the coolest color by far in the SUB line.

Thank,
~I

pascal, your StingRay in Translucent Purple with a maple fretboard was completed on January 26 2001 and was shipped to our French distributor, High Tech. Nice finish, not a great deal of basses made in this color. ;)

Ian, - yeah, the "textured Cinnamon" finish was pretty cool, it was also the last one we brought out before discontinuing the entire SUB line in late 2006. :( Your particular bass was originally shipped to a store called Shelbyville Record Shop in Tennessee on 6/22/05 before finding its way to Guitar Center in your town  congrats on a good find!

Mat, your soon-to-be your-latest 2-band EQ StingRay was completed on Dec 5, 1989 and was originally shipped to the U.K. The finish is Translucent Red and the fretboard should be maple.

Cheers and congrats to all -

Dan

Hello, I am new here... Just found out about the forum and all the nice people around here! :)

I purchased my first Sting Ray 5 last week in California and traveled back with it on a plane to Belgium, and since then, I'm the happiest bass player ever!

I am having the hardest time trying to figure out the finish (I'm guessing original sunburst) of this beauty. The serial number is E58639, and I bought it at the La Mesa Guitar Center. Could Dan help me find out more about it?

Thanks in advance for all the infos!

Luca, welcome and congratulations on your new StingRay 5! The finish is indeed Honeyburst, and the pickguard is shell, which looks good with the rosewood fretboard I know! We shipped this bass to Guitar Center's centrral warehouse on March 14 2007.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi

I bought my 2nd SR5 two months ago in GC Hollywood, CA.
It's Radiance Red, non matching headstock, rosewood fretboard, Pearloid pickguard with one pickup and it kicks ass! :D
Serial number is E62059.
Can anyone help me with the DOB please?

Thanks!

Beavis, welcome to the Forum!

Isn't that like buying your wife a power tool? ;) Just askin' .....

Anyways, your <ahem> her bass was completed on 06/14/06 and was originally sent to Wadsworth Music in Wadsworth, Ohio. Hopefully it is an HH Black/maple StingRay.

All Reet! (as Cab Calloway used to say ...)
