It is a video clip but trust me when I say it was recorded with my EBMM JP6 Lava Pearl. I recorded this clip for an online contest I entered. It is a cover tune contest (Joe Satriani - War). Here is the chain I used:

EBMM JP6 -> Dunlop Crybaby (for leads only) -> Mesa Boogie Mark IV -> Bogner 2x12 Oversized (V30s) -> Shure 57 & Sennheiser e609 mixed -> M-Audio Mobile PRE USB -> nTrack 5.

What do you think?

Hoping to pickup a EBMM Luke soon as well! Music Man guitars are my favorite on the planet!!

Shows you why a JP is made for a MarkIV. Wow. Hats off to you.

Thanks! I love the Mark IV and guitar. It may sound like a fib but my rig is not an attempt at emulating Petrucci. I have tried so many guitars and this one is my favorite in regards to fit, tone and feel. In fact, I love the original bridge pickup compared to the D-Sonic (just my preference). I have been through tons of amps over the past 24 years (including the Peavey Butcher, Peavey XXX, Peavey 5150 II, Marshall DSL 100, Line 6 Spider, Vetta I and II, HD-147, Engl Powerball and SE and VHT CLX). I have tested several other amps at stores and finally decided to take a blind shot with the Mark IV. In fact, I tested a Mark IV combo about four years ago and did not get along with it at all. I decided to give the short head a try and fell in love with it from the beginning. I have not GAS'ed for a new amp since.

With my amp GAS being satisfied my guitar GAS has increased. I can't wait to add a Luke to the stable!

OMG
new gas :(

Enjoy the pain!

+1 very nice tones.

Thanks!

where is the link to the video ?

Sorry, no video! The term "In Action" probably shouldn't have been used. I meant in terms of that was what I was playing in the clip.

Sounds great, I have a quick question. After the opening riff, it sounds like the low string is getting panned back and forth. How did you do that?

Edit:Forgot to mention it's on the song called War

Thanks! The only thing I can think of is that both rhythm tracks were panned right and left. Maybe some of the differences between the two tracks gives off the perception that there is some varied panning going on.
