This thread makes me even more impatient to receive my Stealth B4 HH. Should be just a few weeks more, I think.

Thankfully I've got my SR4 HH in the meantime. And boy does she sound sweet. I'm still on cloud 9 about having the classic Ray sound, plus 4 other great sounds.

Edit: Of course that's simplifying it a bit. There's literally a full spectrum of tones in each of the 5 positions, but you guys know what I'm talking about. Each position has its own fundamental voice/character, no matter how you have it eq'd. And they all sound great.

I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record about this by now, but if I can't be totally redundant about my EBMM enthusiasm here, where can I?? And I'm jolted on coffee right now too, so ... bear with a brother.

Just in case you should get tired of it... toss it my way!

Did you ever try a HS? I wonder how the HS and HH compare... I love the Jazz style options in positions 1 & 2 I have with the HS.

Oli! Glad to read that the tour went well. Good to see you back here.

Don't hold your breath my friend!

Nope, haven't tried an HS. 1 & 2 huh? Interesting. Wait, are you counting from the neck-most or bridge-most position? The HH's J-on-steroids sounds are in 2 (outer coils), 4 (inner coils), and 5 (neck H only), counting from the bridge. I tend to dwell in 1, 2 and 3 most often, though I also really dig 5 sprinkled in here and there, too.

My wallet thanks you ;)

Count from the neck to the bridge (left to right, when looking down at the bass in playing position).
1 = neck S alone
2 = neck S and inner coil from the H

Counting from the bridge those would be the settings 4 & 5.

The HH's J-on-steroids sounds are in 2 (outer coils), 4 (inner coils), and 5 (neck H only), counting from the bridge. I tend to dwell in 1, 2 and 3 most often, though I also really dig 5 sprinkled in here and there, too.

So that would make your favorite settings:

1 = classic SR H
2 = outer coils
3 = all men play on ten :)

I think it would be cool to have polls on the most used HH and HS settings... (but I'm not sure there haven't been already)
