ok boys I have decided to put a blade/rails pup in the new silo when I get it. I have a dimarzio chopper in one of my other guitars but may need something different. I will b playing rock with a lot of soul in it!!!! (aka richie kotzen). What r ur thoughts/suggestions?

I saw Kotzen open for Paul Gilbert in May....his tone was wicked....great live performer! I like the direction your heading in dude....love to hear some audio once you change out the PUPs.

The coolest sounding singlecoil sized HB I ever happened to play in person was a Duncan JB Junior in the bridge position of a Silo SPecial... my humble 2 cents...

dimarzio~ tone zone "s" it's only been out a few years all the aspects of the original tone zone in a single coil and tappable for coil split!Hi out put lots od gain lots of definition!I dig em put one in my strat and wow nice!

yjms are cool but sorta' weak output if your looking for rock try the tone zone!

I can second this one. The Silo Spec I just bought has a JB Jr in the bridge position. Very good humbucker tone when the volume is dimed, but cleans up nicely when the vol is rolled back.

I'm very tempted to try a Tone Zone S myself. I love the humbucker, esp on the SS.

Another vote for the Tone Zone S, I have a full-size one in my JCRG and my dad has an S in his Strat. I'm sure it would work perfectly in a Silo.

To me the Tone Zone S is way too dark and muffled for the very open Kotzen sound. Albeit not a blade 'bucker, I'd spring for something like Duncan's Screamin' Deamon S. The Screamin' Deamon S has really cool tone (albeit pretty low gain), with all the cut and definition you could ever want - it's just what the doctor ordered for funky rock! Honestly, be fooled by neither name nor the Lynch connection, the Screamin' Deamon S is a very open vintage-y humbucker with moderate output. It really is a very cool, versatile and IMHO underrated PU.

hey,all 3 are tone zones with push/pull coil taps in them it's a buddy guy strat but I wanted somthing different
DAMN RIGHT I GOT THE BLUES!
it really don't sound like a strat any more very warm and agressive with crazy strat harmonics!I was told it would kill the blues of the guitar but I can really get it from bell like clean to dimebag dirt with a few lever/knob flicks!I have the screamin' deamon on my lynch esp's I guess they are ok but I prefer the tone zones,best thing with dimarzio they'll let ya' switch and trade p/u in for a different type for 30 days so try them all!Look on their website and listen to some of the sound bytes and use your judgement it's very interactive with every technical thing laid out in front of you like ohms output and tonal characteristics it's easy to get in the ball park of what your looking for then narrow it to one or two to try.

Richie Kotzen is awesome!!! I'm a big fan of Richie. Saw him live in Budapest this year and it was amazing!
Richie was using a Strat with three single coils for the two last tours, so I don't know if you really need a humbucker...
He used a DiMarzio Chopper T in the bridge position of his Telecaster though... (but I haven't seen him playing that Tele for a long time)

The only single spaced humbucker I have in my guitars is a DiMarzio Pro Track and I like it
